Technique :: Concept

e11_collective uses a painting technique which we evolved over many years of experimentation.We call it photoimpressionism because it combines the precision of photorealism with the poetry of impressionism.

Automotive paint is delicately sprayed in many layers for a kind of pointillist effect. From a distance, the paintings seem like photographs. Reality and dream oscillate \ blur.

Algorithms guide our days, shaping choice, pattern, and chance. As intelligence expands, identity drifts between physical and digital.Machine fonts, from monospaced to OCR, become our instruments of observation.Underscore_ marks the presence of absence, readiness to receive, and silence.

Art History :: Concept

In Western painting, the window has long served as a symbol of insight, illumination, and revelation. Classical and Renaissance artists used it as both a literal source of light and a metaphor for spiritual understanding. Windows invite two ways of seeing: outward observation and inward reflection. They let us engage with the world while remaining apart from it, offering artists a timeless device to explore questions of self, perception, and environment.Beyond symbolism, windows are gateways to two essential resources: air and light. Yet, because they are so woven into daily life, we seldom notice them. They frame our view of the world while remaining invisible, both conduit and boundary.

:: The Lineage of Luxury

Historically, glass windows were a luxury. Until the nineteenth century, their production and use were heavily taxed, marking them as indicators of wealth and refinement. In modernity, the aircraft window extends this lineage of meaning into transcendence. It offers a view through space AND through scale. From high above, the window flattens mountains, abstracts oceans, and turns cities into patterns of light. We gaze outward, suspended between destinations, reminded of the distance between human ambition and the forces that hold it aloft.

:: The Intervention

When text appears, it deepens the dialogue between image and thought. The view beyond is vast, yet overlaid with words that focus the infinite. The result is a dialogue between the personal and the universal: consciousness in quiet contrast with the immensity of the world.The aircraft window becomes both frame and mirror, inviting reflection where hope, height, and solitude converge.

e11 is an anonymous art collective making art in the manner of a luxury maison.The e stands for evalescere - a Latin term meaning to grow strong, to ascend, to come into being. It represents the spirit of emergence, a force that embraces flux and evolution.11 is a master number in numerology, symbolizing intuition, insight, and awakening.We operate at the critical intersection of contemporary identity, material culture, and behavioural science. The collective is defined by its intentional analysis of modern social mechanisms and its conviction that the true frontier of creation lies not in what is made, but in how ideas are inscribed upon the self. Our work translates complex behavioral science, from the Mere-Exposure Effect to Self-Affirmation Theory, into elegant, material interventions designed to initiate self-directed change.
